HAPPY THURS DAY!

About

THURSDAY is run by Felix Kriegsheim and Nils Bökamp.

We have been working together for almost twenty years. First in advertising as producers and creative leads, later in non-fiction storytelling. Which basically means: we have spent two decades turning ideas, chaos and impossible deadlines into finished films.

We develop, execute and deliver non-fiction stories on an international level for major broadcasters, streamers and anyone brave enough to ask what we are currently working on.

For us, it always begins with a spark. A newspaper article. A book. A podcast. A story heard at the last barbecue. A strange detail someone mentions casually and we cannot stop thinking about for the next six months.

Story first. Always.

That is what separates us from others. We love storytelling. We hunt for the unexpected. We push boundaries in execution and have a healthy habit of questioning everything, including ourselves, the format, the first idea and occasionally the coffee machine.

Every project is different. Every story has its own needs. That is why we build the right team around each one, working with the best filmmakers, writers, journalists, artists and specialists we can find. And when we do not know enough, we go looking for the people who do.

Come visit. We will tell you what is in production, what is coming next and probably a few things we are not supposed to talk about yet.

We could also explain to you our Google ratings. But honestly, reviews of moron's trying to stop us only make us more determined.

Producers

Felix Kriegsheim

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Felix wanted to be a professional ice hockey player with the Frankfurt Lions. It didn't work out. Today he is Thursday's managing director – a game with much more overtime.

Over the past 16 years he has built a strong track record in social-political filmmaking, taking him to conflict zones around the world. Felix shoots and cuts his own material. For personal reasons he is a life-long friend of Ukraine. And he is a part-time olive farmer in Apulia, where he wants to retire one day. One day – but not yet.

His work includes the international co-production 1968mm and the RTL+ true crime series Wachtendonk, which he ran as showrunner. With Eldorado – Everything the Nazis Hate he served as executive producer on one of the first non-fiction Netflix Originals in Germany. Currently Felix is in production on a new true crime mini series set in the darknet, in collaboration with ARD.

Nils Bökamp

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Nils Bökamp works as a director, showrunner, and producer in non-fiction storytelling.

Real life is his favorite source material. Mostly because it keeps coming up with stories that no writers' room would dare to pitch. His work starts with curiosity, precision, honesty, and empathy. He looks closely, listens carefully, and tries not to get in the way of the truth too much.

Real events can be wildly powerful. They can be entertaining, moving, absurd, devastating, brutal, funny, and sometimes all of that in the same scene. At a time when fiction and non-fiction are increasingly blending into each other, first-hand accounts and lived experiences feel more important than ever.

Nils has served as a juror, consultant, and expert for numerous training initiatives focused on international documentary films and series.

From 2019 to 2021, he commissioned original documentaries for Netflix as the lead creative for the DACH territory and as part of the EMEA team based in London.

Vienna Killing

Vienna Killing tells the Jack Unterweger case from the one perspective that has been missing: the women closest to him. At the center is Bianca Mrak, who at 18 became engaged to the serial killer and fled with him to the United States – her journey from Vienna to Miami is an emotional road trip between seduction, control and the fight for self-determination. While Unterweger was celebrated as a writer and poster child for rehabilitation, he murdered 13 women across two continents. This three-part documentary series deconstructs the myth, gives his victims a voice, and makes visible the blind spots of one of Europe's most spectacular criminal cases.
